Does liking a Chris Brown Song Make Me a Bad Person?
In the past I have been very critical of people who openly give lip service to how great Roman Polanski's work is, or think that Charlie Sheen is great in Two & a Half Men. This is because Polanski drugged and raped a 13 year old, and Charlies Sheen has a 20 year long rap sheet of physical abuse to women, and to his own children by virtue of their proximity to viewing his actions. Seeing or hearing their mothers getting abused is also abusive. Point blank. Period.
So at about 4 AM I heard this song on MTV, and I was like. That's hot. Then I looked up and saw that it was Chris Brown. I felt conflicted, because I don't like his personality or his actions, but I like this song. I really really like this song. So I kind of get how people can like Polanski's work even though Rose Mary's Baby is overrated, without liking Polanski, but Two & a Half Men is still crap.
I will however refer to this on my iPod as Benny Benassi featuring Chris Brown, because that's what it is.

ReplyDeleteI just posted that last comment to the wrong article. But anyway, liking Chris Brown's music does not make anyone a bad person, but liking Chris Brown is another story. I loved his last album (or was it a mixtape) you know the one he was suppose to be promoting when he through a chair out the window. But right now I will bump that song Ain't No Way (I think it's from his first album) til the cows come home.
ReplyDeleteThe situation that happened with Polanski was 25 years ago and if the victim herself doesnt want to press charges. I don't think we should either. I'm not condoning his actions but it's not something he constantly does. It only happened once,everyone makes mistakes.
ReplyDeleteGetting too drunk and throwing up is a mistake. Drugging and raping a child is sick, malicious, and premeditated. If it was your child, the fact that it only happened once would not matter.
